China Cabinet Makeover
I purchased this China cabinet through an online auction and couldn’t believe I won the bid at $35! I was especially happy that it was in two pieces which made transport and moving much easier. I decided to replace the dark inside with interlocking shiplap that I painted white along with the inside shelves.
The blue/gray cabinet color is a “mystery” paint from the “oops” section at Lowe’s! I love this color and may have to color match so I can purchase it again!
I removed the back of the hutch and cut my shiplap to fit just inside the back edge of the cabinet. I finished off the edges with a small piece of trim. The shiplap worked beautifully and went together very easily...using 1 1/2 Brad nails to secure to the back.
I decided to remove the door because it was slightly warped and didn’t close very easily. I actually love this look better and so did my customer.
Once everything was painted, I sealed the outside with polycrylic and the inside with clear wax for durability. I love the finished product! Here it is staged!
